Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which an image printed at a speed too high for a line image sensor to read out the image with a required accuracy can be read out at the reading speed of the line image sensor or below without requiring a dedicated mechanism. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder is provided with a line image sensor 11 in a recording medium reversal mechanism for printing on both sides and reads out an image when the recording medium 8 is stopping for reversal or when it is carried subsequently at a low speed.
