Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film which is excellent in magnetic recording characteristics and the adhesion to a magnetic recording layer when it is used as a base film of a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The laminated polyester film is formed of two or more polyester layers constituted mainly of polyester and is wound in the shape of a roll. The polyester has an intrinsic viscosity in the limits of 0.50 to 0.70 dl/g and the polyester layers are biaxially oriented. A coating layer constituted mainly of a binder resin and having indentations in the surface is provided at least on one side of the laminated polyester film. The frequency of the indentations in the surface of the coating layer is 2.0×104pcs./mm2or less and the average depth F (nm) and the average diameter D (nm) of the indentations are in the specified limits.
