Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block pavement structure which inexpensively, stably, and continuously achieves a heat dissipating effect of a paving block by using heat of vaporization of water, and to provide a heat island preventing method. SOLUTION: According to the block pavement structure, the paving blocks 1 define a penetrating hole 10 extending along oppositely facing the side surfaces 1c, 1d, of the pair of paving blocks 1 and a conducting tube 2 having through holes 5 formed in a peripheral wall thereof is arranged through the penetrating hole 10, for leading water. Then water in the conducting tube 2 flows from the through holes 5 into the penetrating hole 10, and then the water is absorbed and infiltrated into the paving block 1 by capillarity, followed evaporating from a surface layer of the paving block 1. Therefore by virtue of the heat of evaporation of the water, heat dissipation of the surface layer is achieved, and thermal radiation from the paving block 1 is suppressed, to thereby suppress ambient temperature in the vicinity of a pavement surface.
