Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove dissolved metals accumulated into an iron chloride-based etching liquid containing nickel by being used for an etching. SOLUTION: In the method for regenerating the iron chloride-based etching liquid containing nickel in an electrolytic cell, an Fe-Ni alloy in an amount dissolved by an etching stage among metal in the etching liquid is electrolytically recovered at the ratio of the alloy dissolved by the etching stage on the cathode side of the electrolytic cell, and chlorine ions produced by a reduction reaction on the cathode side are consumed to oxidize bivalent iron into tervalent iron.
