Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate cylinder which has minimized a stiffness reduction of its cylinder body and has a space for a plate clamping apparatus. SOLUTION: In this plate cylinder, a cylinder body is provided. The cylinder body has a plate cylinder outer surface for a first print image and a first end and is provided with a shell. The shell has an inner surface in the circumferential direction of the plate cylinder and located around the first end and has a gap for holding the plate. The shell is movable relative to the first end in the plate cylinder axis direction and has a shell outer surface for a second print image. At least one inward extended insertion part is provided on the inner surface of the shell, and the gap is extended within the insertion part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
