Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas with which nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine are highly efficiently removed in the coexistence of oxygen and which is strong against sulfur oxide being a catalyst poisoning substance in the exhaust gas and is durable even in the atmosphere of high teperature and to provide an exhaust gas cleaning method. SOLUTION: This catalyst for cleaning the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine is obtained by mixing alkaline-earth metal with a precursor of titania as active components on a porous carrier, firing the obtained mixture and depositing a part of the fired body on the compound oxide of an alkaline-earth metal and titanium. This catalyst can highly efficiently remove the nitrogen from the exhaust gas containing excess oxygen and SOx. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
