Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of retaining coated optical fiber ribbons, preventing coated optical fibers adaptable to hot lines from moving as well as preventing optical loss from increasing to the extent causing no disconnection, and also to provide a tray for housing extra length. SOLUTION: In the case of housing the coated optical fiber ribbon 27 covered with a protective tube 29 in the extra length storing tray 1 in a closure for an optical fiber cable, the method is characterized in that the coated optical fiber ribbon 27 is retained by a coated fiber retaining means 47 within the extra length housing tray 1.
