SOLUTION: The sizing agent comprises a vinyl copolymer, wherein the vinyl polymer is composed of at least one kind of structural units having quaternary ammonium salt structure selected from the group consisting of structural units I to IV and at least one kind of structural units V having oxyalkylene chain in the mass ratio of (30:70) to (99:1) and has a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 5×103to 3×105.
