DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISTRIBUTING VIDEO CONTENTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally perform on-demand distribution to a client terminal in accordance with the transmission capability of a distribution path for video contents and the display capability of the terminal. SOLUTION: A control circuit 18 receives a video contents distribution request from the client terminal 2, acquires information on the display capability from a terminal information management server 16 on the basis of a terminal ID at that time and acquires from a distribution path information management server 17 information on the transmitting speed of the distribution path to the client terminal 2 on the basis of a network ID at that time. The control circuit 18 notifies a contents processing server 13 of a processing parameter for appropriately processing the video contents and the video contents to be a target in accordance with these acquired information and also instructs a contents distribution server 14 to distribute video contents outputted by the contents processing server 13 to the client terminal 2 that has made the distribution request.
