TATAMI MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core material for Tatami mat and a Tatami mat using this core material substitutable for a foaming body such as polystyrene, polyethylene and polypropylene, and easy in disposal. SOLUTION: In this Tatami mat, the core material for Tatami mat floor is composed of the foaming body of a polylactic acid-based resin. Thus, since the Tatami mat has lightness and physical properties equal to a conventional Tatami mat using foaming styrene and is also biodegrdable and a low combustion heat quantity, when the foaming body of the polylactic acid is used for the core material of the Tatami mat, the disposal can be easily performed.
