PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to quickly repair faulty conditions automatically carrying out the reset in a sub control circuit, only by equipping a headlight device with a simple power on reset circuit, even when a malfunction is generated in the sub control circuit built in the actuator for a headlight deflecting an optical axis. SOLUTION: In a headlight device comprising a sub CPU 431 integrally equipped in a headlight and for controlling an optical axis deflecting operation, and a main CPU 201 outputting control signals for deflecting the optical axis to the sub CPU, the sub CPU comprises the power on reset circuit 437 with a simple construction comprising a capacitor and a resistor. When the main CPU detects the malfunction of the sub CPU, it once switch off power supply by power source control means 205 and resets the sub CPU by the power on reset circuit. The malfunction caused by the runaway of the sub CPU is eliminated, and it becomes possible to quickly restore it to a normal state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
