INKJET RECORDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can prevent a lever from rubbing a printing face immediately after printing to disturb printing, or prevent the lever from being stained even at a recording medium detecting means of a system which detects the presence/absence of a recording medium through contact with the recording medium. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device of a serial type with a recording position where recording is executed in a vertical scanning movement range of a platen, and a standby position outside a range of the recording position has the recording medium detecting means which comprises a recording medium detecting lever and a means for detecting a shift of the recording medium detecting lever to detect the presence/absence of the recording medium on the platen. The recording medium detecting lever shifts through contact with the recording medium. The recording medium detecting means is arranged so that the detection means operates between the standby position of a recording paper and the recording position. The detecting lever operates to contact the printing face of the recording medium in a forward operation of the platen from the standby position to the recording position, and not to contact the printing face of the recording medium in a backward operation of the platen from the recording position to the standby position.
