Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mg hydrogen-storage alloy, which can be mass-produced and effectively exhibits the hydrogen occluding characteristics of Mg and to provide its producing method. SOLUTION: A Mg hydrogen-storage strip alloy, which utilizes the hydrogen occluding characteristics of Mg, is produced by this producing method. The method has a laminating process, wherein Mg plates 1 containing Mg and Ni plates 2 containing Ni are alternately laminated to form a laminated body 31a, and a rolling and joining process, wherein the laminated body 31a is rolled to form a Mg-Ni laminating and mixing plate 32 consisting of Mg plates and Ni plates which are integrated in a thin walled state. In the rolling and joining process, it is preferably repeated that, after rolling the laminated body 31a, a laminated body 31b is parted to a plurality of parts, then the parts are laminated and rolled again. After the rolling and joining process, a heat treatment process, wherein the Mg-Ni laminating and mixing plate 32 is held in the temperature range of 200°C-450°C and a Mg2Ni intermetallic compound is synthesized by counter diffusion between solid phases, is preferably conducted.
