COSMETIC AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic which forms a coating film providing proper firmness and feeling of tension when dried, not being released even by movement of the skin and having high adhesivity, provides the skin with firmness/elasticity and has ameliorating effect on fine wrinkles, or the like. SOLUTION: The cosmetic comprises (A) a water-soluble polymer having coating film-forming ability, a water dispersion or a water-compatible organic solvent solution of a hydrophobic coating film-forming polymer, (C) fine particle spherical silica, (D) a polyhydric alcohol and (E) water in the weight ratio ((A)/(B)) of the solid content of the component (A) to (B) of 1-9 and in the weight ratio ((A)/(D)) of the component (A) to (D) of ≥0.4.
