DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent image by forming a developing layer having desired thickness on a developing roller. SOLUTION: A developer regulating member 60 arranged proximately to the developing roller 4 and regulating the thickness of the developer layer formed on the roller 4 to specified thickness is equipped with a circular-arc-shaped surface 61 forming a convex surface toward the roller 4 and an extended surface 63 connected to the surface 61. The member 60 has a mirror surface 62 whose arithmetic mean roughness Ra is ≥0.05μm and ≤0.20μm on the surface 61, and one part of the surface 62 is made proximate to the roller 4. The surface 63 is inclined to a downstream side in the moving direction of the outer peripheral surface of the roller 4 with respect to the normal surface V of the roller 4 at the proximate position P2 of the member 60 and the roller 4. The surface roughness of the surface 61 excepting the surface 62 and the surface 63 is rougher than that of the surface 62. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
