ALTERNATIVE INPUT DEVICE FOR HOME VIDEO GAME MACHINE AND ITS INPUT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternative input device for a home video game machine for operating a home video game machine by a simplified controller having a smaller number of switches than a standard controller of the home video game machine and its input method. SOLUTION: This alternative input device includes: a communication means 30 connected to a controller connecting terminal 17 of the home video game machine 12 to input and output data; simplified controllers 14, 14a used as a substitute for a standard controller 13 previously attached to the home video game machine and having one or two switches; an input processing means 25 connected to the communicating means 30 and the simplified controllers 14, 14a; and a function setting means 27 connected to the input processing means 25 and manually inputting allocation setting corresponding to each switch operation of the standard controller 13 corresponding to a game played by the home video game machine 12 according to the operation of the switch of the simplified controllers 14, 14a.
