DISK ARRAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly cool a canister consisting of a HDA (Head Disk Assembly) and a control circuit substrate for the HDA in a disk array device. SOLUTION: The disk array device is provided with a HDD BOX unit having a plurality of up-and-down and right-and-left HDD BOXes for supporting and fixing canisters 7 having the HDA and an electronic circuit substrate, and a plurality of fans for cooling the canisters with cooling air. The plurality of fans are arranged on a front surface door and a rear surface door to suck the cooling air from the front and rear surfaces, and also exhaust it through an upper cover provided with the fans; the HDD BOX units are arranged to form a gap space about in the middle part of the front surface door and the rear surface door; the air is exhausted from the upper surface cover through the gap space; and a cooling air separating member 21 for separating the cooling air, which cooled the HDD BOX units on the door side and those on the rear surface door in the opposite directions, is arranged in the gap space 17.
