Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new optical isolator element which is formed by laminating at least one or more single panel-like polarizers and at least one or more single panel-like 45° Faraday rotators and which can be reduced in the size and cost of an optical isolator and is improved in mass productivity by providing a means for the purpose of having high reliability and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Low-melting point glass layers are deposited by making combination use of a masking method and a sputtering method on one or both surfaces, precluding a light transmission surface, of the single panel-like 45° Faraday rotator or on one or both surfaces, precluding a light transmission surface, of the single panel-like polarizer and at least one or more single panel-like polarizers and at least one or more single panel-like 45° Faraday rotators are laminated through the low-melting point glass layers and are integrated by melting and solidifying the low-melting point glass layers.
