PRESS-FIXED CONNECTING METHOD OF OPTICAL FIBER, CALKING SLEEVE, AND PRESS-SPLICING TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber press-splicing method in which optical axes are properly aligned for coated optical fibers and the occurrence of damage to the coated optical fibers or the like is prevented. SOLUTION: The method includes first and second press-splicing processes. In the first process, a first optical fiber 1 is inserted into the end part 9 of a calking sleeve 3 without removing an optical fiber coating 7 of the fiber 1 and calking process is conducted for the part 9. Moreover, in the second process, a second optical fiber 2 is inserted into the other end part 10 of the sleeve 3 without removing the coating 7 of the fiber 2 and calking process is conducted for the part 10.
