HANDLING DEVICE AND HANDLING METHOD FOR SECURITY-RELATED DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent data from being decoded even if it is read, by enciphering security-related data (e.g. a portable device ID) to be stored in a non-volatile memory and storing the same. SOLUTION: This handling device for data (e.g. a portable device ID) related to the security of a vehicle includes a on-vehicle device 2 having a portable device authentication part 6, an EEPROM 9, a ROM 8 and a control part 7; a vehicle 1 having an on-vehicle device 2, a door lock mechanism 5 and a communication part 3; and the portable device 20 for locking or unlocking the door lock mechanism 5 of the vehicle 1. In the device, an enciphering part 10 for enciphering the security-related data with key of cryptograph is interposed between a control part and the EEPROM, and on the basis of the authentication result of the portable device authentication part, the portable device ID is enciphered with key of cryptograph and stored in the EEPROM 9 according to an instruction from the control part.
