METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AND RECOVERING IMPURITIES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and recovering impurities which have a melting point higher than that of water, from water, which contains a liquid having a melting point higher than that of water, simply and efficiently in an energy saving manner, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the method for separating and recovering impurities from water containing the liquid, which has a melting point higher than that of water, as impurities, water containing the impurities is cooled to a temperature, which is lower than the melting point of the contained impurities and higher than the solidifying point of water to solidify only the impurities which have a melting point higher than that of water to separate the liquid being the impurities from water. The apparatus using this method has a storage tank 1 for storing the water containing the impurities, a cooling cell 3 cooled to the temperature, which is lower than the melting point of the impurities and higher than the solidifying point of the water, a means for spraying the water containing the impurities in the storage tank on the cooling cell to recover the impurities and a recovery means 2 for recovering the solidified impurities in the cooling cell.
