PM OPTICAL FIBER FUSION SPLICING MACHINE AND THE FUSION SPLICING METHOD OF PM OPTICAL FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact fusion splicing machine which enables operation for resetting a rotating mechanism etc. while a clamp of a PM optical fiber is released. SOLUTION: The angle of the polarization maintaining plane of the PM fiber is adjusted by a PM optical fiber fusion splicing machine equipped with: a holder where the optical fiber is placed; a clamp device which clamps the optical fiber and holder and releases them from being clamped; and a fusion splicing machine which connects the PM optical fibers by fusion splicing.
