Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detector with enhanced detection accuracy by setting the disposition of GMR elements so that they are given the same magnetic field. SOLUTION: GMR elements G1 and G2 formed in a block A and GMR elements G5 and G6 formed in a block C are provided symmetrically to each other about an original point O. Since the elements G1 and G5 and the elements G2 and G6 are symmetric to each other about the point O, the elements G1 and G5 are equal to each other in the size and direction of an external magnetic field impressed by a rotating magnet 22, and also the elements G2 and G6 are equal to each other therein. Therefore, forming a Wheatstone bridge circuit by together combining the elements G1, G5, G2, and G6 makes it possible to enhance the detection accuracy of rotation angle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
