VIDEO REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND VIDEO DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display video contents suitable for a portable player as reproduced video comparatively easy to watch even when displaying the video on an external unit. SOLUTION: When video data are displayed on an incorporated LCD 3, video data of a moving image are displayed all over a screen size, and an OSD (On Screen Display) is displayed to be overlapped on the video data. When displaying the video data on an external display device 8, on the other hand, the video data are displayed on an area being a part of the screen size, and the OSD is displayed on an area where the video data are not displayed. In this case, the size of the video data is made equal for displaying on the incorporated display part 3 and for displaying on the external display device 7, such that when the video data are displayed on the external display device 8, the image does not become a coarse image and video easy to watch is obtained.
