Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate making method for an activator type aluminum printing plate which can satisfy overall printing characteristics including ink acceptability, ink eliminatability, plate wear, ground stains, brindled piles, and development latitude etc. SOLUTION: The plate making method of processing a planographic printing plate having physical development nuclei between an aluminum support and silver halide emulsion layers by a developing solution is characterized in that a developing agent of the amount necessary for alkali activation is contained in the constituting layers of the planographic printing plate, that thiosulfate is substantially not contained in the developing solution and that alkali silicate is contained therein.
