Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for controlling printing which enable efficient printing in terms of a running cost and a processing speed in the case of printing with the use of a color printer and a monochrome printer. SOLUTION: A set printing mode is detected (S10), and pages are allotted to a record medium in a page sequence based on the printing mode (S11). In the case where the printing mode is one accompanied with the allotment of a plurality of pages to one record medium (S12, yes), the allotment of pages is changed to reduce the number of record media including color pages (S13).
