Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device capable of improving the contrast between brightness and darkness, and of improving luminance. SOLUTION: A negative electrode layer 14 is a multilayer film formed by alternately stacking metal films 14Mkand transparent conductive films 14Tmfrom the side of an organic EL layer 13. Specifically, the layer 14 comprises a metal film 14M1formed of Al, a transparent conductive film 14T2formed of ITO and a metal film 12M2formed of Nb, having a reflection characteristic with respect to light in luminescent regions of respective organic EL elements 10R, 10G and 10B, and having absorption characteristic with respect to light in a visible wavelength region other than the luminescent regions. Thereby, emitted light is efficiently reflected by the layer 14 in the elements relative to pixels in an emitting time, so that the white level is improved. In the elements relative to the pixels in a non-emitting time, even if external light enters into the layer 14, it is absorbed by the layer 14, so that the black level is improved.
