SEALING STRUCTURE OF OPTICAL FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seal a plurality of optical fibers with a simple structure while preventing breakes in the optical fibers and transmission losses of the optical signals. SOLUTION: A fiber sealing part 1 having optical fibers bonded and sealed in a cylindrical optical fiber sealing member 11 is fixed to a partition 2 with a fixing nut 6 and a fixing member 7. Since the contact faces of the fixing member 7 and the partition 2 are wedge-formed, the fixing member 7 is deformed to fasten the optical fiber sealing member 1 when the fixing nut 6 is fastened. When a housing container 8 is installed in water and the partition 2 is pressurized through the filling liquid 26, the fixing member 7 is further deformed to fasten the optical fiber sealing member 1, thereby keeping the tightly sealed state.
