Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organosiloxane oligomer being controlled within a very narrow molecular weight distribution and usable for a composite material at molecular level as a functional material, and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: The organosiloxane oligomer is prepared by hydrolysis-polycondensation of an organoalkoxysilane compound and with a number average molecular weight [Mn] of 350-2,500 in terms of polystyrene determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and has a ratio of a weight average molecular weight [Mw] to [Mn] : Mw/Mn=1.0-1.3. The method for manufacturing the organosiloxane oligomer comprises hydrolysis-polycondensation reaction process of the organoalkoxysilane compound in an aqueous solvent in the presence of a basic catalyst, wherein the process is made to be a quasi-growth stopped state with a growth of the particle diameter of formed droplet particles in 0.1μm/10minutes or less and the reaction is stopped before agglomeration and joining of the particles is started.
