PRESS FORMING METHOD AND PRESS FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press forming method and a press forming apparatus which enable the temperature of a work to be raised in a short period of time regardless of a variation in the sheet thickness of a work and a coating application state of a lubricant on a work surface and thereby contribute to an improvement in productivity. SOLUTION: In forming the work 8 by an upper die 4 and a lower die 7, the load between the dies 4 and 7 is held at a prescribed value and the work 8 is heated through the dies 4 and 7 by means of heaters 9 in the state that the work 8 is held between the upper and lower dies, thereafter the upper and lower dies 4 and 7 are brought relatively close to each other to form the work 8.
