Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-cathode light emitting device wherein adhesiveness between a conductive film and a cathode layer is enhanced, and also to provide an image display unit using the device. SOLUTION: A CNT cathode 5 that is a cold-cathode electron source is formed on a back panel 2 arranged opposite to a front panel 1. An electrons drawn out from the CNT cathode 5 reaches a phosphor body 4 through meshed openings 7 of a gate electrode 6, and makes the phosphor body 4 emit light. The CNT cathode 5 is constituted of a binder layer 5c formed on the conductive film 5a, and of a cathode layer formed on the binder layer. The cathode layer discharges a large amount of electrons, and the binder layer 5c makes the conductive film 5a and the cathode layer 5b adhere to each other strongly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
