DATA ACCESS METHOD, REPRODUCING APPARATUS, RECORDING METHOD, AND RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manage titles or artist's names of music recorded on disks when recording data on a recording medium conforming to a MD. SOLUTION: Access is performed to a track information table managing pointer information indicating a part of a name table managing decoding information corresponding to tracks, pointer information indicating a part of unit files and title information in accordance with a selected track. Based upon the pointer information indicating a part of the name table, the title information is read from a part of the name table, and the track information containing the decoding information corresponding to the selected track and the pointer information is read out of the track information table.
