Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine, capable of restraining hunting of cooling water temperature in the internal combustion engine against a target cooling water temperature. SOLUTION: An electronic control unit (ECU) of the cooling device comprises steps of calculating: a cooling heat loss quantity eqw of an engine which is taken by the cooling water on the basis of an engine operating condition (step 400); calculates a required radiator flow rate ev2req(i) for making an engine outlet water temperature into a target engine outlet water temperature on the basis of the cooling heat loss quantity eqw, the target engine outlet water temperature and a radiator outlet water temperature (step 800); a feedback correction heat quantity eqwfb (i) for setting the engine outlet water temperature to the target engine outlet water temperature (step 500) to correct the cooling heat loss quantity eqw on the basis of a feedback correction heat quantity eqwfb (i) in calculating the required radiator flow rate ev2req (i). A flow control valve is controlled on the basis of the required radiator flow rate ev2req (i) (step 900, 1000). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
