Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method which can sterilize microorganisms and decompose contaminants, has little possibilities of giving rise to environmental problems, and can prevent the corrosion of metals and the adhesion of scale. SOLUTION: Water containing the microorganisms and the pollutants are irradiated with UV rays. A copolymer in which maleic acid and/or a maleic acid compound, and (meth)acrylic acid and/or a (meth)acrylic acid compound, and hypophosphorous acid and/or hypophosphite are included as constituents is incorporated into the water.
