CRUSHING SURFACE PART MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the crack of a roller main body caused by a discontinuous clad cross-sectional shape, peeling of a hardened clad metal and fall-out becoming problems when the thickness of the hardened clad metal is changed according to abrasion. SOLUTION: An undercut part 12 continuous in the crushing direction is provided on the part of a base material surface subjected to remarkable abrasion in the direction orthogonal to the crushing direction. Ribs 13 consisting of a material having inferior abrasion resistance to the hardened clad metal are attached in the crushing direction with prescribed spaces. A first abrasion resistant hardened metal 14a is filled for cladding between the adjacent ribs 13 and 13 to bury the undercut part. A second abrasion resistant hardened metallic material is clad over the whole crushing surface on the first metallic material 14a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
