Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which an image having a high image quality is always and stably formed by preventing the occurrence of a problem by judging that it is abnormal when a correction amount is larger than a normal value and not performing correction. SOLUTION: The color slippage correcting device of a color image forming apparatus possesses a registration detecting means to detect a registration deviation value, a scanning optical device having a mechanical mechanism such as a cam and a lead screw and an inclination correcting means by an LDE and a means to perform the various kinds of announcement to a user in accordance with a state at the time of detecting abnormality for which inclination correction is not performed in the case that an inclination deviation value detected by the registration detecting means exceeds a specified value.
