ROLLING MILL AND ROLLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling mill and a rolling method by which a desired shape of a sheet is obtained in high response and cost reduction is attained by its compact structure. SOLUTION: This mill is provided with work rolls for rolling a rolled stock, a coolant system for supplying a coolant at least on the inlet side of the rolled stock, a shape detector for measuring the shape of the sheet after rolling and a mechanical controlling means for controlling the shape of the sheet. The diameter of the work roll is taken as ≥ 0.16 to < 0.3 times the maximum width of the sheet which can be rolled. By installing coolant header trains on which a plurality of nozzles are arranged in the width direction of the sheet and a plurality of supply systems provided with means for respectively adjusting the flow rate and the temperature of the coolant in the coolant system, the rolling mill provided with a controller for controlling the mechanical controlling means and the coolant system on the basis of the detected value of the shape detector is realized.
