OPENING/CLOSING MECHANISM OF FIXING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing mechanism of a fixing unit, without having to provide a means for avoiding an interference of a variety of parts around the opening/closing mechanism with a continuous form printer, in the opening/closing mechanism of a fixing unit of the printer for printing on a continuous form by an electrophotographic method. SOLUTION: The mechanism comprises a first frame for supporting rotatably one roller; a second frame fixed to a frame of the printer to rotatably support other roller; a driving member for driving the first frame in the direction closely contacting the one roller to the other roller; a compression coil spring for exerting the first frame so as to separate the one roller from the other roller, when the driving member does not drive the first frame.
