Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting a cycloalkyl hydroperoxide to a cycloalkanone and a cycloalkanol at a low cost in good selectivity of the cycloalkanone. SOLUTION: The cycloalkanone and the cycloalkanol are produced by mixing a liquid containing the cycloalkyl hydroperoxide with an N-hydroxy cyclic imide such as N-hydroxyphthalimide, a cobalt compound and an aqueous alkali solution to react the cycloalkyl hydroperoxide.
