MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vin plate mounting structure capable of simply mounting and dismounting a vin plate in assembly line of a vehicle and making unlawful removal difficult after completion of assembly without providing part specifications for an instrument panel and a vehicle body member separately by presence or absence of mounting of the vin plate. SOLUTION: After fixing the vin plate 2 to a mounting face 12a of a plate mounting part 12 of a bracket 1 using the bracket 1 exclusively for mounting the vin plate, a join fixing part 11 of the bracket 1 is joined with a rear surface of a front end part of the instrument panel 4 and is fixed and mounted by a clip 3a. The mounting face 12a of the plate mounting part 12 becomes substantially flush and is continuous with an upper face of a tip part of the instrument panel 4 in this fixing and mounting condition to oppose to an inner face of windshield 5 in a parallel condition so that a vehicle identification number attached to the vin plate 2 can be read through the windshield 5 from the outside of the vehicle.
