DATA PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable each processing element to execute a desired processing unit of processing, in a pipeline configuration of a plurality of processing elements connected in series. SOLUTION: A data processing device has a configuration of the plurality of processing elements 100 to 103 connected in series. Each processing element has a program memory 40 for storing processing procedure data, register elements 10 to 1N for storing external input data or processing result data, an arithmetic part 20 for executing specified operations on data stored in the register elements 10 to 1N and providing processing result data for the register elements 10 to 1N, and a sequencer 30 for controlling selection of data to be stored in each register memory and the operation execution by the arithmetic part 20 according to the program stored in the program memory 40.
