TREATMENT METHOD FOR BORON CONTAINING WATER AND TREATMENT APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically treatment boron-containing water with a reduced amount of chemicals to recover boron as valuables. SOLUTION: A treatment method for boron-containing water has: an adsorption process (A) for bringing boron-containing water into contact with a granular material carrying a hydroxide of a rare earth element to adsorb and remove boron; a desorbing process (B) for bringing the granular material having adsorbed boron into contact with an alkali water solution to desorb boron; an evaporation process (C) for evaporating and concentrating the desorbed liquid containing boron in a high concentration, a crystallization process (D) for crystallizing an alkali metal borate in the evaporated; and concentrated solution and a solid-liquid separation process (E) for separating the crystallized alkali metal borate from the solution. A treatment apparatus for boron-containing water has (A) an adsorption means for adsorbing and removing boron, (B) a desorption means for desorbing boron, (C) an evaporation means for evaporating and concentrating the desorbed liquid, (D) a crystallization means, and (E) a solid-liquid separation means.
