SOLUTION: The electrolyte for the electrolytic capacitor, in which a second-class dicarboxylic acid (A) and/or salt (B) thereof, having alkyl group higher than propyl group in the side chain of the same and total carbon number of 14-24, is dissoloved in organic polar solvent (C), and the electrolytic capacitor employing the same are used.
