Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code reading apparatus in which a barcode is read in a dark environment even without using an illumination means when it is known in advance that a code to be read is only the barcode. SOLUTION: First of all, a sight is turned on (S41). When the sight is turned on and a read position or range is determined, next, the sight is turned off (S42). In such a state, image information is captured (S43). The image information is decided to judge whether the code is successfully read or not (S44). When the code is not successfully read, the sight is turned on again (S45). Next, it is determined whether an illumination is required or not (S46). When the illumination is required, the presence of reading of a two-dimensional (2D) code is determined (S47). When there is no reading of the 2D code, the image information is captured (S53). After the capture is completed, the sight is turned off (S54). The image information is decided to determine whether the code is successfully read or not (S55). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
