Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing fullerenes by which impurities are selectively removed from a soot substance containing C60, C70and higher order fullerenes and fullerenes can be manufactured in high purity with high yield. SOLUTION: This method includes: a first process of mixing the soot substance containing C60, C70and higher order fullerenes with an extraction solvent containing an aromatic hydrocarbon to prepare an extracted liquid; a second process of adding a poor solvent to the extracted liquid to obtain precipitate of C60, C70and higher order fullerenes; a third process of again dissolving the precipitate in an extraction solvent to again obtain a dissolved liquid; a fourth process of adding a poor solvent to the dissolved liquid to obtain a solution of C60, C70; and a process of vaporizing the poor solvent and the extraction solvent to obtain crystals of C60, C70.
