Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manuscript reading device which has simple composition and can read an image on the manuscript at high speed and with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In an integrated module installed with an image sensor for reading images within a fixed range on the manuscript and supported slidably, one end in the orthogonal direction to a moving direction of the integrated module is attached with a drum 4, and the other end of the integrated module is attached with pulleys 10, 15, 16. A wire 5 is extended to the drum 4 from a fixed end 51 placed in the vicinity of an end of a moving range of the integrated module to be winded around the drum 4 and the wire 5 is extended to a fixed end 52 placed on a side opposite to the fixed end 51through the pulleys 10, 15. Similarly, a wire 6 is extended between a fixed end 61 and a fixed end 62 via the drum 4 and the pulleys 10, 16. The integrated module is moved by rotating the drum 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
