Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the easiness, rapidness, and reduction in cost of a recovering work and to enable the reuse of disassembled members by reassembling in a propulsion method for excavating the part between a starting shaft and a manhole while discharging sediment by use of a leading excavator, attaching a propulsion pipe to bury a pipe line, and disassembling the leading excavator after the completion of the work so that it can be recovered through the manhole. SOLUTION: After the leading excavator 10 is set through the manhole 3, split parts of a cutter spoke circumferential side end part 11a separated from a cutter spoke shaft center-side end part 11a, a split skin plate 13 and a split type hood and bulkhead 12 separated from a drive part 11e are recovered through the manhole 3. A large leading excavator shaft center part having an attachment member for operation 14, the cutter spoke shaft center-side end part 11b, the drive part 11e and a sludge discharge pipe 15 is transferred to the starting shaft by driving its traveling rolling element 17 for operation and then recovered. The remaining split members of the split type skin plate 13, the split type connecting ring 13A and a direction correcting jack 13B are recovered onto the ground through the manhole.
