Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a functional coating material which is excellent in reflecting properties, thermal insulation properties and long wave radiation properties for a thermal energy of e.g. the sunlight and, as a result, exhibits a high thermal insulation effect. SOLUTION: The coating material contains transparent or translucent ceramic vacuum hollow particles (ceramic bubbles) 2 and a structure-retaining agent 1 for densely arranging the ceramic bubbles 2 in layers after the formation of a coating film. An example of the structure-retaining agent used comprises a composite of silica particles and at least one of a long-chain acrylamide, an oxidized polyethylene wax, and an organic bentonite.
