Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a software enabling download of a function extension code from a peripheral device to a console base game system. SOLUTION: A dongle 150 in a peripheral device can be loaded in a game console 102 for readily reproducing a DVD movie in a game system. A DVD reproduction code is stored in the dongle 150. The software for a code server 270 is executed by the console 102 for readily performing a code transmission from the dongle 150 to the console 102. The software supports the transmission of a universal serial bus (USB) through a USB line 704 by using a high-level bus protocol, and an application program interface is disclosed wherein an access to the protocol is enabled.
