Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for spray coating which enables the more efficient, economical coating of a surface, particularly the cylinder slide-contacting surface of a crankcase cylinder and is suitable for mass production, in particular. SOLUTION: The apparatus for applying spray coating to the surface of a treated article (20) includes a torch (2) which generates a spraying jet (P) and adjusting means (40; 45; 60; and 70). The torch (2) is positioned in a treatment station (14) so that the spraying jet (P) substantially spreads in a direction perpendicular to the vertical direction. The adjusting means adjust the treated article (20) so that the surface to be coated becomes perpendicular relative to the spraying jet (P) at coating. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
